What this site does when you visit
The pages are static files. They set no cookies, run no scripts, and load nothing from any other server. There is no analytics, no advertising and no embedded content.
The hosting provider, Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany), records server logs when a page is requested: your IP address, the time, the page requested, the browser type and the referring page. That is technically necessary to deliver the page and to defend against abuse. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in running the site. Logs are kept for 14 days and then deleted.
There is no contact form. If you write to the email address on the front page, we receive your address and what you wrote, and we use them to answer you. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your message concerns a contract or a request before one, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in answering correspondence. Your message is kept as long as the exchange is open and for any period the tax or commercial law requires after that.
If you ask in your email to be told when a new book comes out, we keep your address for that one purpose and send one message when it happens. Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, given by asking. You can withdraw it at any time by writing to the address above, and your address is then deleted.
The mailbox is provided by 1&1 Mail & Media GmbH (GMX, Germany), which processes the data on our behalf. No mailing tool is used; emails are written and sent by hand.
Your rights
You can ask what personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict its processing, receive it in a portable form, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to the contact above. You can also complain to a data-protection authority; the one responsible for us is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (www.ldi.nrw.de).
Changes
This notice is dated October 2026. If the site ever adds a form, a mailing tool, analytics or a shop, this page changes first.
